Toxic Stress is the Silent Killer!

Stress is a natural part of life, but when it becomes chronic and overwhelming, it can be deadly. Toxic stress can lead to a range of health problems, including cardiovascular disease, anxiety, depression, and even shrinkage of the brain.

When we experience stress, our body goes into fight or flight mode, releasing hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. But when this stress becomes chronic, our body never gets to relax, leading to a buildup of these hormones and a range of negative effects on our physical and mental health.
Children are particularly vulnerable to toxic stress, which can affect their brain development and lead to long-term health problems.
So, how can we manage toxic stress? By recognizing the signs - headaches, fatigue, irritability, and difficulty sleeping - and taking steps to reduce stress in our lives. This can include mindfulness practices like yoga and meditation, exercise, healthy eating, and seeking support from friends, family, or a therapist.
The good news is that our brains are resilient, and with the right techniques, we can reverse the effects of toxic stress and build healthy habits to manage stress in the future."
